19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He defended four early-game break points in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
